Here's what previous Leadership Academy participants say:
"I find myself speaking frequently of the experience of being in an environment with the finest minds the educational world has to offer, and the inspiration that afforded. Working side by side with my true peers triggered the kind of deep, satisfying creativity that feeds the soul."
"It was an honor to be part of this eclectic group and guided by your deep knowledge and gentle guidance."
"The work I have done with the Center for Ecoliteacy is really being woven into the fabric of our school. You are all so amazing and I appreciate your work so much."
2011–2012 participants will have the opportunity to:
- address the need to build a strong force of onsite leaders who take a systems-thinking approach to education for sustainability
- cultivate the ability and courage to reshape schools in alignment with ecological principles
- learn successful leadership strategies to inspire their faculties and school communities
- design projects to apply ideas from the Academy to their sites
Academy participants will work with leaders in the schooling for sustainability movement, including Fritjof Capra, Zenobia Barlow, and Carolie Sly. Sessions will feature presentations by creative, inspirational educators and investigations of schools at the forefront of schooling for sustainability.
