California Food for California Kids® Collective Action Week

April 20–24, 2026

Collective Action Week is an opportunity for the California Food for California Kids® Network to celebrate serving more fresh, California-grown fruits and vegetables as part of a powerful, statewide collective impact.

When students see their own cultures reflected on the lunch tray—and learn about the farmers and foods in their community—they’re building connections between food, culture, health, and the environment. Collective Action Week is a chance to make those connections visible and delicious.

How to Participate

Serve fresh, California-grown fruits and vegetables anytime April 20–24, 2026, and promote your participation to your community.

Ready to make a bigger impact? Start here:

  • Turn Lunch into Learning: Incorporate a student taste test, schedule a visit from a local farmer, or invite a legislator or board member to join your students for lunch.

  • Celebrate California’s Cultural Diversity: Serve a new California Flavors, Sabores de California recipe, like Mango Carrot Lassi, Oven-Baked Pancit, or Pozole Rojo.

Open to all California Food for California Kids Network members. Not a member yet? Join now.
